receive a $1,000 scholarship and $1,100 stipend   300 hours
High seniors and college students  -- in the United States
There will be 5 nations in 2009 -- expenses are $1,500 for expenses and airfare -- open to families
This summer they are going to Cambodia with three families who have adopted from Cambodia
They want to help us serve Charlotte

Mt. 6:1-4     some things will be noticed and honored, a lot of the Christian life is done in secret
things done to praise God
1 Cor 10:31   do it all to the glory of God  most important
Honor single moms and moms married to military men
Eph 1:12   we're here for his glory, praise God in song
It's a beautiful thing when athletes praise God
We like to be encouraged, mentioned, have our names spelled correctly
We enjoy a little too much the praise that comes our way
make the decision - it's not about my glory, it's about Jesus Christ
If life was a movie, we're not the star - we're extras
gave examples of movies with extras hamming it up to the cameras
We're like that, we like to be noticed
Some have pure, sweet hearts - not many
as a young disciple, Rick was sharing the good things to encourage others but to really get a pat on the back
He wasn't content to do God's work without being noticed.
It was stealing his joy - to live for the praise of people.
He learned to be anonymous and unrecognized
God gets the glory
He prayed he would be happy when others get glory, even his glory
We get stale in our faith because of the routine
Need the magic of doing something that only Jesus saw
That's real Christianity
When he tries to be the star, God stops the scene - you're the extra
God raises the proud
When we try to exalt ourselves, God will list our name and spell it wrong
When I come to serve the Lord, I don't bring my trumpet
When you're not noticed - you feel bitter, unhappy
When you do it for the glory of God - you feel great
Honoring the moms - unsung heroes
Single moms - no one sees you but Jesus is glorified
Once you let go of the glory, you get everything you need
