2009 Budget
We have had challenges as a church, our leadership has been a great example the way they have led the church in this area.
Board information with contact information is on our website, but the board is primarily corporate (financial and legal). Normally you would contact the elders and staff with input and questions.

challenges facing our country: unemployment, national debt
We need to honor our leaders - pray for them
1 Tim 2:2
We don't know what will work to fix the economy, but we know the Bible tells us to pray
in the Bible - those of us who have jobs should be grateful; and work with all your hearts
Eph 4:28
Live within your means; pay your bills
be consistent in your tithing
We're hitting budget, even though many have been laid off
Be generous and encouraging to those in need
share your homes with people
Acts 2, there were no needy in the church
We need to know and meet every need
1 Tim 6:18 share with others
we say amen but it could get tough
those with jobs or income, God tells them to be thankful
Joe Hunsaker - serving the church, being spiritual and leading his family while unemployed
Do you best to live on what you've got
Tap available resources - make good friends, be closer to people
Disciples are taking care of each other
communicate the needs you have
we don't want to bother anyone but then Satan gets in and we get resentful
Be sensitive to people out of work, pray with them but don't make it their whole lives
"Got a job yet?"
Don't take it upon yourself to start a fundraiser, organize through the church and don't just shoot off e-mails
Benevolence Hotline in the bulletin
Phil Fisher will be heading up benevolence ministry when deacons appointed in a few weeks
When out of work, great time for love, advice, fellowship - not just money
We work together the way a family does
What can we do as a church?
Wherever you see a need, help
Give personal help and encouragement
Be involved in your house church, know the needs so you can meet them
Pray with people if you can do nothing else
We have a lot of people who can help you
CT and Timothy Lauren putting together a workshop for job-hunting, resumes, to get people back in the work force
Prayer lists - employment for the unemployed -- these may be confidential, not everyone can know someone is going to be laid off
Don't broadcast on Yahoo information that is private
If you find job openings, public information, can put that on Disciplelink
If looking for a job, can put that on disciplelink if you choose
Regular prayer and fasting for us and for people around the country who need jobs
Benevolence - need to be regular in giving to this weekly (the poor)
The budget is set, but they're aware we may need to make changes based on the economy
We have contingency plans if contribution goes down
They have to have a solid fiscal budget but everyone is committed to do whatever they need to do
We will have to watch is closely
We are a family, we talk to each other
This challenge that God has allowed to come to our country, this can take us higher, tighter and closer as a family
We need to be ready.
We need to help meet each other's needs

Greetings from Jacksonville church
2 Cor 8:1 relates to our times today
Generosity
Paul gave grace to the Macedonia region (Northern Greece, Phillipia, Thessalonica)
He was in Southern Greece (Corinth)
They gave in 1st Corinthians to the disciples in Judea, the pool
Finish that heart you have of giving
Macedonia gave out of their poverty
Ron believes this describes Charlotte
It's a challenging time
Disciples that give in a trying and testing time
You give yourself first to God and then to giving and God's work
Ron is so proud of the church
He sees Christians giving continuously to the poor during this trying time
That is to be commended to the Lord
This church gives because it is their commitment to God
The church has given and met missions every year
Even this past tough year, with carry over, people are moving here
We grew over 15% over the past two years
Over 750 people at Bring Your Neighbor Day
Over 900 people for the Christmas play
