Communion -- Joel Hansen
Luke 23:39   2 thieves on the cross, 1 unrepentant, 1 needs Jesus
1st thief - get off the cross, he wanted it to end, didn't really care about Jesus
2nd thief - he never asked Jesus to take away the cross, just to remember him
our sufferings never reach the amount of suffering that he went through

Frank  Radcliff
Joshua 4:1
Joshua 5:13-15
vs. 14 - neither - how often do we think God is for us or against us?   maybe it's not all about me
Psalm 20:4  our plans
Prov 19:21  many are the man's plans, but the Lord's will prevails
God's plans are important, the angel supported  God
Joshua needed to obey God
our plans and desires
the promises of God we want to see happen in our lifetime
am I submitting to God's plans, or am I trying to get God to submit to my plans
there are examples of begging God and changing his mind; but we need to submit to God
That's our challenge
Think of the victories I want to see in my life, the situations, the people, the locations
Am I looking to find God's will, or am I looking to see Him support my plan?
How do we get God to reveal his plan to us?
Joshua 6:1-5   fortified city, soldiers on the walls.   Catapults, archers - inflict pain on the army approaching
marching around it once a day for 6 days?   does it make sense?    they were vulnerable, in the wide open
7th day, 7 times trumpets blow, shout out
not a sophisticated battle plan
the people couldn't take credit for this plan, it was the Lord's plan
The things we want to make happen - am I in control of everything my children do?
no -- do we yield and submit to God's plan?
Do we submit our plans to God?
Do we do what God has set before use to do, or do what we want?

Challenge:
Think about the situations, relationships, locations where I would like to see a victory take place
What's my plan to find God's plan?
find someone to share that with, the victory I want to happen, then pray together to make that happen
e.g.  Don Hall has driven to Hickory 5 days a week for 14 years -- a dream for disciples in Hickory
e.g.  Jon Folstad drives to Salisbury every day, another family is moving here that will make the same drive, from University to Salisbury -- pray for disciples in Salisbury
e.g. your neighborhood, walk around the neighborhood every day for 7 days, praying.   Find another disciple to walk around your neighborhood with you - praying over your neighborhood.
e.g. praying on the phone daily with another disciple

Chap 7 -- Achan takes the plunder, he is stoned, God's will is done.   God's will will be done.
